Hotel Nikko Narita

Things We Love

  • Quick and efficient check-in, with warm and professional staff who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived
  • Complimentary airport shuttle every 15–20 minutes—drivers were cheerful and happy to assist with luggage
  • Dinner at the Sunset Lounge was a highlight—watching planes take off and land against a glowing sunset felt unexpectedly calming
  • Thoughtful touches for travellers, like a small gift shop by the lobby seating area—perfect for browsing while waiting for the shuttle

Location

Hotel Nikko Narita is just a 10-minute complimentary shuttle ride from Narita International Airport, making it ideal for late-night arrivals, early-morning departures, or short stopovers between flights. The shuttle also runs every 30 minutes and is made even smoother by the helpful drivers and staff who help load your luggage without hesitation.

Property and Room

Spacious and well-maintained, the property exudes a polished yet welcoming feel. The expansive lobby offers plenty of seating and even flight information screens to make airport transfers stress-free. We also spotted a charming chapel and banquet lobby—hinting at the hotel’s role as a venue for weddings and formal events. In the warmer months, the seasonal outdoor pool is a pleasant bonus for travellers with more time to relax.

Room options are varied, but the standout is the popular Japanese-Style Family Room. Designed with tatami mats, futon beds and a sunken tea table. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a stunning view out onto the nearby forests below.

Facilities and Restaurants

Breakfast at Serena was a real highlight, offering a wonderful spread of both Western and Japanese favourites. We did find that it got quite busy around 9am, so heading down early made for a more relaxed start to the day. We also returned for dinner at Serena, and since it happened to be strawberry season, we got to enjoy a whole buffet of local strawberries and strawberry themed dishes.

Beyond Serena, the hotel had plenty of dining options to keep things varied. Dinner at Toh-Lee, the Chinese restaurant, was full of flavour and offered a nice change of pace from Japanese cuisine. For something lighter, we stopped at the Coffee Lounge for lunch – we highly recommend the Katsu sandwich was absolutely delicious! But our favourite meal of our stay was dinner at Sunset Lounge, which made an ideal setting for evening drinks or a quiet dinner. Watching planes in the distance while the sun dipped low over Narita was a surprisingly serene way to end the day.

Lastly, there’s also a 24-hour Lawson in the lobby which was a lifesaver for snacks, drinks, and last-minute necessities.

Summary

Hotel Nikko Narita delivers exactly what airport hotel guests hope for: seamless transfers, peaceful rooms, a variety of dining options, and thoughtful touches that make a short stay enjoyable.
